Bitwise amends Hyperliquid ETF filing; BHYP ticker, 0.67% fee

Bitwise filed a second SEC amendment for a proposed spot Hyperliquid ETF, naming ticker BHYP and setting a 0.67% management fee; the fund would trade on NYSE Arca if approved.

Bitwise Asset Management filed a second amendment with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday for a proposed spot Hyperliquid exchange-traded fund, listing the ticker BHYP and setting a management fee of 0.67%. If approved, the fund would trade on NYSE Arca and provide investors exposure to the spot price of the Hyperliquid token HYPE.\n\nBitwise first submitted a filing in September and updated it in December to state the fund would seek to generate additional returns through HYPE staking. Competing proposals from 21Shares and Grayscale followed, with 21Shares filing in October and Grayscale in late March.\n\nEric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst, noted on social media that listing a ticker and fee in an amendment commonly indicates a product is close to launching. He added that ‘HYPE is up 200% in the past year’ and that Bitwise appears to be moving while market interest is high.\n\nMarket data show HYPE has risen about 65% since the start of 2026 to roughly $41.96 and about 182% over the past 12 months. Blockchain analytics data indicate Hyperliquid entered the top 10 crypto derivatives platforms by volume, generating approximately $492.7 billion in trading volume in the first quarter, about $90 billion less than the ninth-ranked platform.\n\nStaking would allow the fund to capture yield by locking HYPE tokens in protocol mechanisms, subject to the fund’s rules and regulatory approvals. The 0.67% management fee represents the annual charge investors would pay to operate the fund.\n\nSEC review and any required disclosures or changes will determine an approval timeline. The addition of a ticker and fee in Bitwise’s amendment brings BHYP closer to becoming a tradable ETF if the commission grants approval.
