BitMine Adds 101,901 ETH; Treasury 5.08M ETH, $6.5B Loss
BitMine bought 101,901 ETH last week, lifting its Ether holdings to about 5.08 million ETH while reporting roughly $6.5 billion in unrealized losses.
BitMine Immersion Technologies purchased 101,901 ETH last week, the company announced Monday, bringing its Ether treasury to about 5.08 million ETH. The firm’s combined crypto and cash reserves are about $13.3 billion.
The latest acquisition followed a purchase of 101,627 ETH the prior week, marking two large additions in two weeks and the largest accumulations since December. Total investments in digital assets are near $17.6 billion, which at current market prices translate into roughly $6.5 billion in unrealized losses.
BitMine has staked about 3.7 million ETH to earn rewards for validating transactions on the Ethereum network. Staked Ether generates yield but does not remove exposure to price movements in the token.
The company’s NYSE-listed shares (BMNR) are down more than 20% year-to-date. Ether traded back above $2,400 after falling to a low near $1,800 earlier this year and remains down about 23% year-to-date. Other risk assets have seen recent price gains during the same period.
Companies that hold large digital-asset reserves can record substantial unrealized losses when token prices decline. BitMine’s recent purchases reflect continued accumulation of Ether amid ongoing price volatility.
