Bitcoin ETFs Post $643 Million Outflow, End October Down

U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $643 million in net outflows Friday, pushing October’s total to $515 million after Bitcoin fell and Binance confirmed a $6.3 billion theft.
U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $643 million in net outflows Friday, according to SoSoValue data. The withdrawals pushed the funds’ net outflows for October to $515 million and ended a four-day streak of inflows. Earlier that week, Bitcoin ETF inflows had temporarily pushed October’s net flows into positive territory.
October was the ETFs’ first negative month since June. They still recorded about $361 million in net inflows for the year through the end of October.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust had the largest outflow on Friday at $234 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund followed with $201 million, according to Farside Investors data. The withdrawals came after Bitcoin fell to about $77,000 on Thursday.
Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, confirmed Friday that hackers stole about $6.3 billion in digital assets.
Yishi, founder and chief executive of hardware wallet maker OneKey, warned on X that BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF could face similar security risks because it relies heavily on Coinbase to hold its Bitcoin.
U.S.-listed spot Ether ETFs recorded $156 million in net outflows Friday, bringing their October losses to a record $1.61 billion. The previous monthly record was $1.42 billion in November 2025.
October’s withdrawals erased the Ether ETFs’ net inflows for 2026. The funds ended the period with about $45 million in net outflows for the year.
