Binance adds in-app chat for messaging and crypto transfers
Binance on April 15 launched Binance Chat inside its app, adding private messaging, group chats and in-app crypto transfers linked to Binance Square chatrooms.
Binance on April 15 launched Binance Chat inside its mobile app, introducing private messaging, group conversations and the ability to transfer crypto within chats. Chatrooms are linked to Binance Square, the platform’s community and creator space. Users can message approved contacts, join group discussions, share trade-related content and send crypto or red packets without leaving the Binance interface.
Contacts are added via unique chat IDs and communication starts only after a request is accepted. Binance said those controls are intended to reduce unwanted interactions. Existing account protections and in‑app safety measures that apply across the exchange will also apply to Binance Chat. The company said the rollout began April 15 in supported regions and that some functions, including the ability to create group chats, are being enabled gradually.
Binance described the feature as part of an effort to connect discovery, discussion and execution in one place to reduce the friction users face when moving between separate services. Jeff Li, vice president of product at Binance, commented, “Binance is focused on making crypto more practical for everyday use by reducing friction and keeping the experience simple and intuitive.” He added that Binance Chat brings messaging, community interaction and crypto transfers together in one app experience.
The launch comes as digital asset platforms increasingly add messaging, payments and trading features into single environments. Binance positioned the chat feature as a way to keep discovery, community interaction and transactions inside its ecosystem.
