American Bitcoin Powers Up 11,298 ASICs in Drumheller
American Bitcoin energized 11,298 ASICs at its Drumheller, Alberta site, bringing its fleet to about 89,242 units and a reported 28.1 EH/s of capacity.
American Bitcoin completed energization of 11,298 application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs at its Drumheller, Alberta facility on Wednesday, the company announced. The addition raises the miner’s total fleet to about 89,242 machines and its reported hash rate to roughly 28.1 exahashes per second (EH/s).
The newly powered rigs operate at an average efficiency of 16 joules per terahash (J/TH), the company reported. Efficiency in J/TH measures how much energy is required to perform a given amount of hashing work; a lower J/TH number means less electricity used per unit of computing.
Shares of the publicly traded firm climbed about 11.7% after the energization was disclosed, trading near $1.38 per share. The company said the energization follows recent purchases of mining equipment that expanded its on-site inventory and capacity.
American Bitcoin was co-founded by Donald Trump’s sons and focuses on mining Bitcoin and other proof-of-work cryptocurrencies. In filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company reported a $59.5 million loss for the fourth quarter of 2025 and a $227.1 million decline in the fair value of its Bitcoin holdings. The filings note that the company “mined BTC at a 53% discount” to spot market prices during that period.
The miner’s update arrives amid broader industry pressures. The April 2024 Bitcoin halving reduced block rewards for miners. Rising energy costs and lower Bitcoin prices have reduced revenue for many mining companies. Bitcoin’s price fell more than 50% to about $60,000 in February, the period when the company filed its fourth-quarter results.
Hash rate represents the number of cryptographic calculations the fleet can perform each second and determines a miner’s share of the network’s chance to win block rewards. The company did not provide guidance on future deployments or on plans for sales of mined Bitcoin in the announcement.
