In a rare no‑action letter, the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance said it will not recommend enforcement action against DoubleZero for distributing its 2Z token to network participants, provided the program runs as described. Commissioner Hester Peirce welcomed the move, saying DePIN tokens differ “fundamentally” from the capital‑raising deals Congress asked the SEC to police.

Hypervault vanishes as $3.6M funnels to Tornado Cash – PeckShield
Blockchain security firm PeckShield says roughly $3.6 million was drained from DeFi protocol Hypervault and routed through Tornado Cash after being bridged from Hyperliquid to Ethereum and swapped into ETH. Soon after the alert, Hypervault’s website and X account went dark, intensifying concerns of an exit scam. 
New X attack: accounts hacked via “fake calendar”
A new large-scale phishing campaign has been detected on social network X, targeting leaders of the crypto community. Unlike traditional fake login-page schemes, attackers are exploiting X’s own infrastructure, bypassing both passwords and two-factor authentication. 
FTX Recovery Trust pays $1.6 billion to creditors
FTX Recovery Trust started distributing approximately $1.6 billion to eligible creditors. The payment represents the third round under the exchange's Chapter 11 plan and will reach recipients through BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer within one to three business days. 
Aster climbs to No.1 for daily fees among perp DEXs
Aster has jumped to the top of DefiLlama’s 24‑hour fee ranking. The BNB Chain–centric perp DEX – a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures – pulled in over $25 million in fees (protocol revenue from trading commissions), outpacing Hyperliquid and the rest of the field. Hyperliquid, by comparison, showed about $3.2 million for the day.

Following a significant influx the prior week, spot Ethereum ETFs concluded the week of September 22–26 with massive outflows. According to SoSoValue data, net weekly redemptions totaled approximately $795.6 million, with weekly trading volume exceeding $10 billion. 
Anchorage prepares for Tether's USAT launch by doubling staff
Anchorage Digital Bank NA will more than double its stablecoin unit as it prepares to issue Tether's new U.S.-regulated stablecoin USAT under its federal banking charter, Bloomberg reports. The expansion comes ahead of USAT's planned year-end debut.
