Aster climbs to No.1 for daily fees among perp DEXs
Aster has jumped to the top of DefiLlama’s 24‑hour fee ranking. The BNB Chain–centric perp DEX – a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures – pulled in over $25 million in fees (protocol revenue from trading commissions), outpacing Hyperliquid and the rest of the field. Hyperliquid, by comparison, showed about $3.2 million for the day. 
FTX Recovery Trust pays $1.6 billion to creditors
FTX Recovery Trust started distributing approximately $1.6 billion to eligible creditors. Buterin backs Base as ‘right way’ L2 amid sequencer debate
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin pushed back on claims that Base’s centralized sequencer makes it akin to an exchange, calling the Coinbase L2 an extension of Ethereum that uses some centralized features for UX while relying on Ethereum’s decentralized base layer for security. He said Base is non‑custodial and pointed readers to L2BEAT’s standards and prior field tests.
