Montenegro Explores Digital Currency with Ripple Collaboration
Montenegro's Central Bank has forged a partnership with Ripple to examine the potential for a Montenegrin digital currency, which may take the form of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) or stablecoin. A growing number of countries seeking to introduce a central bank digital currency (CBDC) are abandoning the idea after conducting pilot projects. Either the use cases did not work or were recognized as inadvisable, or the CBDC did not receive support from citizens and businesses in certain countries.
They announced a new job on LinkedIn: “Head of Central Bank Digital Currency.”
