ZKsync has launched the Atlas upgrade, increasing throughput to 30,000 TPS and introducing support for enterprise-grade solutions on Ethereum.
ZKsync, developed by Matter Labs, has rolled out Atlas, a major upgrade to its ZK Stack ecosystem, designed to accelerate transactions and support enterprise blockchain integration.
Atlas introduces a new high-performance sequencer capable of processing up to 30,000 transactions per second. The upgrade also integrates the Airbender proof system, which delivers block finality in under one second. As a result, ZKsync transactions now cost around $0.0001, with confirmations taking less than half a second.

Matter Labs positions Atlas as the foundation for enterprise and institutional adoption of onchain infrastructure. Companies can now deploy their own blockchains with privacy and governance control while maintaining full compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem.

According to Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski, the new architecture creates “the infrastructure of the future – where enterprises and governments can operate on blockchains with the same level of sovereignty and flexibility they are used to in traditional systems.”

Atlas supports multiple virtual machines, including EVM and RISC-V, ensuring full consistency between transaction code and zero-knowledge proofs. This enhances reliability and simplifies auditing for enterprise users.

The release coincides with surging interest in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. In 2025 alone, the RWA market surpassed $30 billion, with major players such as BlackRock, Deutsche Bank, and Robinhood announcing plans to migrate parts of their infrastructure to blockchain.

ZKsync aims to become the core of this ecosystem, bridging public and private chains into a single, provably secure environment. Atlas marks a step toward that goal, giving institutional participants real-time access to ZK technology for the first time.
