XRPL Commons launches grants for XRP Ledger builders
XRPL Commons launched a three-track grants program on July 23 offering funding, mentorship and technical support to developers, startups and established projects on the XRP Ledger.
XRPL Commons, a nonprofit that supports development on the XRP Ledger, launched a grants program on July 23 to provide funding, mentorship and engineering help for open-source contributors, startups and established projects building on the network.
XRPL Commons stated: “The XRPL Commons Grants Program operates across three tracks, each targeting a distinct builder profile.”
The first track, Glow, targets contributors who have already produced open-source software, documentation or infrastructure that other developers can inspect and reuse. Glow has backed 11 projects since October 2025, including node-management utilities, transaction dashboards and post-quantum security integrations.
The second track focuses on startups and contains three subprograms. Aquarium is a nine-week incubator that provides mentorship, technical guidance and business support. Make Waves is a 90-day competition that challenges teams to launch live applications on the XRP Ledger and attract users; the first-place prize is 25,000 XRP through Sept. 21. Early Stage Grants release milestone-based funding to teams with a working product on testnet, a trial environment or mainnet.
The third track is aimed at established products already operating on other blockchains, helping them add XRP Ledger payments, trading or settlement functions. XRPL Commons cited the wallet LOBSTR, originally built for Stellar, as an example of an integration that brings existing users to the ledger.
RippleX amplified the announcement on social channels. The launch follows prior investments and developer tools for the ledger, including an XRPL AI Starter Kit that helps developers build agents that can submit XRP Ledger transactions. Ripple has reported more than $550 million invested across the XRP Ledger ecosystem since 2017 through various initiatives.
XRPL Commons cited performance metrics to show network activity: more than 3.7 billion total transactions since launch, a Q1 2026 daily average of about 2.48 million transactions, and a 124.1% increase in tokenized real-world assets to $2.25 billion.
The grants program is open to teams that meet track-specific requirements. Applications are evaluated for financial awards that are paired with mentorship, engineering assistance and go-to-market support intended to help teams build, ship and scale applications on the XRP Ledger.
