XRP Ledger Activity Peaks; Whales Hold 68.5% of Supply
XRP Ledger logged 48,453 active wallets and 3,317 new addresses as XRP approached $1.55; wallets holding 10 million+ XRP control 45.83 billion tokens (68.5% of supply).
Crypto analytics firm Santiment reported the XRP Ledger recorded 48,453 daily active addresses and network growth of 3,317 new wallets over a 24‑hour period, the highest readings since March. The platform tracked XRP price alongside those on‑chain metrics.
The increase in on‑chain activity occurred as XRP traded above $1.54 for the first time in about two months and tested the $1.55 area during the period. At the time of publication XRP was trading at $1.43.
On May 14, Santiment found wallets holding at least 10 million XRP collectively controlled 45.83 billion tokens, equal to 68.5% of the token’s total supply. The firm valued that holding at roughly $68.5 billion based on prevailing prices and noted it was the largest concentration of such holdings since May 2018.
Santiment also reported a longer‑term accumulation pattern among mid‑sized holders. The number of wallets holding at least 10,000 XRP fell by more than 4,500 between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8 during a broader market crash, then recovered and rose past its previous peak.
Daily active addresses count wallets interacting with the ledger over a 24‑hour window. Network growth measures new wallet creation. Those two metrics indicate how many users are transacting and how many new participants are entering the XRP Ledger.
The analytics firm noted the main question is whether daily activity and new wallet creation remain elevated after the short‑lived price rally.
