TRON DAO served as a Premier Support sponsor at the Blockchain Application Stanford Summit, held July 30, 2026, at Stanford University as part of the Science of Blockchain Conference. The organization hosted a panel titled ‘Global Retail Adoption’ and maintained a booth to engage conference attendees.
The summit was organized by Stanford Blockchain Builders, Stanford Blockchain, the Stanford Blockchain Accelerator and the Cryptography Blockchain Alumni of Stanford. Organizers reported about 600 attendees, including researchers, developers and industry professionals, for a day of sessions on blockchain applications, infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
The ‘Global Retail Adoption’ panel was moderated by Jay Yu, junior partner at Pantera Capital, and featured Sam Elfarra, community spokesperson for TRON DAO, and Caio Sousa, engineering manager for digital assets at Nubank. Panelists examined how blockchain networks can support retail payments and remittances at scale, technical and operational requirements for low-cost, fast settlement, and steps merchants and payment providers must take to integrate blockchain tools into commerce. Elfarra commented during the session: “Retail adoption isn’t just about getting people to hold digital assets; it’s about making blockchain useful in the transactions they make every day. On TRON, sending value across borders is low-cost and settles in seconds, which is what makes the network practical for remittances, merchant payments, and everyday retail use in the markets that need it most.”
At its booth, TRON DAO staff and community members demonstrated recent ecosystem developments, answered technical questions and distributed materials on TRON tools and developer resources. The booth provided attendees direct access to TRON engineers and community advocates and information about TRON Academy programs.
The summit concluded with an invitation-only speaker dinner co-hosted by Blockchain Builders, Franklin Templeton, Base and Cambrian. In materials provided by TRON DAO, the organization linked its participation to TRON Academy outreach, noting recent collaborations with student blockchain groups at Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, Imperial College London, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Dartmouth and the University of California, Berkeley.
In background materials provided by TRON DAO, the organization reported that, as of August 2026, the TRON blockchain had recorded more than 396 million user accounts, over 14 billion transactions and more than $26 billion in total value locked, citing TRONSCAN. The materials also stated that TRON hosted the largest circulating supply of USD Tether (USDT) until recently, with that supply listed above $90 billion at its peak.
