Strategy-linked Wallet Moves 1,030 BTC Ahead of Fourth Sale

Onchain tracker Lookonchain flagged a transfer of 1,030 BTC (about $66.14 million) from a wallet tied to Michael Saylor’s Strategy, days after the firm disclosed selling 1,638 BTC.

Onchain tracker Lookonchain flagged a transfer of 1,030 bitcoin, roughly $66.14 million, from a wallet linked to Michael Saylor’s Strategy. The transfer has not been confirmed as a sale.

The transfer followed Strategy’s disclosure that it sold 1,638 BTC for about $104.7 million between July 27 and Aug. 2, at an average price of $63,957 per coin. That disposal was the company’s third confirmed bitcoin sale this year.

Onchain analysts earlier noted a 299.84 BTC outflow from a Strategy-linked address that prompted sale speculation. Some of those alerts preceded the company’s sale disclosure.

After the July–August disposal, Strategy reported holding 842,138 BTC. At about $64,000 per bitcoin, that holding is worth roughly $52.6 billion and represents about 4% of the 21 million maximum bitcoin supply.

Strategy said the proceeds from recent sales were used “to fund payment of distributions on preferred stock and to fund repurchases of STRC.” The sales were executed under the company’s expanded monetization program, part of its Digital Credit Capital Framework, which authorizes up to $5 billion in bitcoin sales.

Strategy acquired its bitcoin at an average price of $75,419, for a total cost near $63.5 billion. At current market levels the position shows paper losses of about $10.9 billion.

Bitcoin reached about $64,360 earlier in the week before stalling. Market participants are watching whether the 1,030 BTC transfer is converted into a confirmed sale and whether additional tranches are sold under the $5 billion authorization.
