Slovenian firm Dinaro joins EU MiCA EMT register
Dinaro, supervised by the Bank of Slovenia, was added to ESMA’s MiCA register as an authorized electronic money token issuer, the first Slovenia‑based firm on the EMT list.
Dinaro, a Slovenia‑based electronic money institution supervised by the Bank of Slovenia, was entered on the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) MiCA register of electronic money token (EMT) issuers in the regulator’s latest update on Wednesday. The entry makes Dinaro the first Slovenia‑based issuer listed in ESMA’s EMT dataset.
According to its website, Dinaro offers payment services including card issuing and acquiring and holds Mastercard principal membership. With Dinaro added, the EMT register totals 43 authorized issuers.
The ESMA update also changed the EU register of authorized crypto‑asset service providers (CASPs). The CASP list now shows 325 firms after the addition of Czech lender Partners Banka and Germany’s Volksbank Beilstein‑Ilsfeld‑Abstatt. The Czech company Altlift was removed from the CASP list; Altlift had been recorded in early July with authorization notices dated June 30 to execute and transmit client orders and to provide crypto‑asset advice.
Other parts of the MiCA registers were unchanged in this update. The asset‑referenced token (ART) register remains empty, and the non‑compliant entity list stayed at 167 entries.
MiCA establishes EU‑level rules and public registers for different crypto‑asset activities. Electronic money tokens are tokens issued as electronic money intended for payments and for redemption in fiat currency. Asset‑referenced tokens are designed to hold a stable value by referencing one or more assets. Crypto‑asset service providers are firms authorized to provide services such as trading, custody or order execution for crypto assets.
ESMA publishes these registers to reflect when companies receive or lose authorizations at the EU level.
