Robinhood Chain halts block production for 14 minutes

Robinhood Chain stopped producing new blocks for at least 14 minutes on Friday, stalling transactions. The chain normally produces a block every 0.1 seconds, so the gap represents roughly 8,400 missing blocks. Block explorer data showed the chain’s tip remained several minutes old while the network accepted no new entries and registered zero pending transactions across the preceding half hour. The prior 24 hours recorded about 14.14 million transactions with an average fee near $0.48. Block production has since resumed only intermittently.
Robinhood Markets has not disclosed a cause for the outage or provided an estimated recovery time, and it does not publish a public status page for the chain. With no company statement available, block explorers are the main live indicator of network health.
Robinhood Chain runs its mainnet on software derived from Arbitrum’s Nitro and launched on July 1. The network’s block posters are tied to a single sequencer operator – one address whose hex string spells out sequencer – meaning a single entity orders all transactions. When that sequencer stops, there is no secondary sequencer for users to fall back on and no alternative route to push transactions.
A decentralization tracker places Robinhood Chain at the lowest tier, highlighting the single sequencer, the ability to upgrade contracts instantly, and a dispute model limited to two whitelisted parties. The tracker values assets on the chain at about $2.46 billion.
On-chain activity recently set a record for daily decentralized exchange volume on the network, topping roughly $1.06 billion and driven mainly by meme-coin trading. Fee income from that throughput has flowed into the wider Arbitrum ecosystem, increasing revenue for major decentralized exchanges and activity in the native token.
Robinhood Markets has not issued an incident report or public comment as of the latest available data. The cause of the stoppage, how long intermittent production will continue and whether the company will publish a formal incident report remain unknown.
