Ripple launches Ripple Mint for institutional RLUSD access
Ripple launched Ripple Mint, a platform that lets eligible institutions mint, redeem and manage RLUSD via a browser interface and APIs and expands the stablecoin to multiple blockchains.
Ripple on July 23 launched Ripple Mint, a platform that lets eligible institutions mint, redeem and manage the regulated stablecoin Ripple USD (RLUSD) through a browser interface and application programming interfaces.
Ripple Mint supports both manual and programmatic workflows so firms can integrate RLUSD operations into existing systems and automate recurring tasks.
The platform provides APIs, webhook notifications, programmatic balance access and transaction status tracking. Consistent reference IDs link steps of minting and redemption to improve visibility across fiat transfers and onchain transactions.
Eligible customers can initiate redemptions through the web interface or an API, choose fiat settlement or request cross-chain transfers of RLUSD, and receive real-time updates for events such as fiat receipt, mint processing, onchain settlement and payout completion.
The launch expands RLUSD beyond the XRP Ledger and Ethereum to additional networks, including the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink and Unichain. The XRPL EVM Sidechain enables compatibility with Ethereum Virtual Machine tools while maintaining a connection to the XRP Ledger.
RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company LLC, which holds a limited-purpose trust charter from the New York Department of Financial Services.
RLUSD has been listed on exchanges including OKX and Binance. Existing RLUSD customers can begin using Ripple Mint immediately, and the company plans further development of the platform for institutional stablecoin operations and liquidity management.
