Ripple Donates $300,000 to Nepal and Tibet Flood Relief

Ripple, the San Francisco-based blockchain payments company, announced a $300,000 donation to assist communities affected by recent floods in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region. The funds will support emergency response and early recovery.

Ripple plans to route the money through local relief groups and partner organizations already operating in the affected areas. The donation is intended for emergency shelter, food, medical care and basic services for people displaced or otherwise harmed by the floods.

Local authorities and humanitarian teams in parts of Nepal and the Tibet region have reported infrastructure damage, evacuations and ongoing search and rescue operations since the flooding began. Ripple did not name specific recipient organizations in its announcement.

The company will monitor how the funds are used and prioritize distribution where needs are greatest, focusing on restoring access to clean water, health services and temporary housing as required. Ripple has previously contributed to charitable and disaster-relief efforts as part of its social impact activities.

Relief coordinators in the affected districts continue damage assessments and are prioritizing shelter, food distribution and medical assistance. International and local organizations have requested additional support to move recovery beyond immediate emergency aid.
