Real Trump Coins denied authorizing or launching a Solana-based GOLD token that briefly appeared on its X account and on RealTrumpCoins.com on Saturday, blaming the promotion on third-party bad actors and saying it is cooperating with authorities.
The company’s official X account posted a promotion directing users to RealTrumpCoins.com; those promotional posts were later deleted and the account now links to a separate domain, TrumpCoins.com. At the time the denial was posted, RealTrumpCoins.com still displayed the GOLD promotion. The account also directed users to RealTrumpCoins.com in a post that remained online as of Aug. 25.
In an X post the company wrote, “Trump Coins has not authorized and will not launch, promote, or authorize any digital token,” and added it was working with authorities to investigate the incident.
Blockchain analytics data showed the GOLD token launch was highly concentrated, with the developer and newly created wallets controlling about 82.45% of the supply. The analytics indicated 15 wallets linked to the team sold their holdings for roughly $330,000, producing an estimated $312,000 profit in a short window after the token’s debut.
The overlap of promotional content on the social account and the official site raised questions about whether the account, the domain, or both had been compromised. The X account is among the small group of profiles followed by former President Donald Trump on the platform.
Authorities and blockchain monitors are examining the token’s launch and subsequent token movements. Real Trump Coins said it is working to secure its online presence and to clarify what happened.
