Quantum Fintech Founder Harry Yeh Dies After Paraguay Fall
Harry Yeh, founder of Quantum Fintech Group, died after falling from the 30th floor of the Jade Park tower in Asuncion, Paraguay. Police found open apartment doors and are investigating.
Harry Chun Tak Yeh, founder and managing partner of Quantum Fintech Group, was found dead after falling from the 30th floor of the Jade Park residential tower in Asuncion, Paraguay in the early hours of last Friday. Yeh managed a fund with more than $2 billion in assets and owned two apartments in the complex.
Emergency crews discovered Yeh’s body at the base of the building. Authorities reported the body was naked and covered with a black bag. Officers who entered one of his apartments found doors open and personal items scattered through the unit.
Isadora de Proenca Braganholo Carvalho, Yeh’s partner who lived on the 27th floor, was interviewed by police and told them she did not know what had happened.
Francisco Ávalos, general inspector of Asuncion police, told reporters, “The investigation is still in its initial stages and the cause of the fall is still unknown.” Homicide agents are reviewing CCTV from the building and examining footage for movements in and around the apartments the night of the incident.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy and further forensic tests to determine whether the death was accidental, self-inflicted, or the result of third-party intervention. Investigators are checking tenant interviews, building access logs and electronic records for signs of forced entry or confrontation.
Quantum Fintech Group had concentrated investments in the Fanton ecosystem and reported more than $2 billion in assets under management. Local police noted a recent rise in targeted robberies and violent attacks against people linked to cryptocurrency holdings and are not ruling out a criminal motive. Authorities will release more information as forensic results and CCTV analysis progress.
