Polygon Adds TRON Support, Connecting $94B In USDT
Polygon Labs added TRON support to its Open Money Stack, linking more than $94 billion in USDT to licensed U.S. banking rails through one integration.
Polygon Labs announced the TRON integration on Oct. 7. It connects more than $94 billion in circulating USDT on the TRON network with licensed U.S. banking rails through one system.
The integration allows fintech companies, remittance providers and payment platforms to move dollars into TRON-based USDT, known as TRC-20 USDT, and convert the tokens into funds sent to bank accounts. Customers can fund payments by bank transfer, debit card or cash at a retail location, receive USDT in a TRON wallet and later settle the funds through a bank account.
The update extends three Open Money Stack services to TRON. Polygon Ramps provides regulated dollar access through money-transmitter licenses and compliance systems covering 48 U.S. states. Businesses can create and manage TRON wallets through programmable accounts. They can also route USDT between TRON and supported Ethereum Virtual Machine networks, including Polygon, in one payment flow.
TRON supports more than $94 billion in circulating USDT and has processed over $30 trillion in total transfer volume, according to Polygon. TRON DAO reported more than 407 million user accounts and over $28 billion in total value locked as of October 2026.
“Adding TRON brings one of the deepest pools of USDT liquidity into that same integration, so businesses can move those dollars onto U.S. banking rails or across chains with the licensing and orchestration already handled underneath,” Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, said in the announcement.
Justin Sun, founder of TRON, described the integration as a way for businesses to build payment products that connect blockchain liquidity with traditional financial systems.
Polygon said the TRON launch is the first phase of its support for the network. The company plans to add more assets, markets and payment capabilities. Payment companies will still be responsible for their licensing and regulatory obligations.
Polygon Labs began assembling the Open Money Stack through its pending acquisition of Coinme and its acquisition of Sequence. Coinme provided licensed U.S. fiat access, while Sequence provided enterprise wallet infrastructure. Polygon reported more than $3 trillion in payment volume as of Sept. 21.
