PeaqOS adds World ID zero-knowledge proofs to robots

PeaqOS integrated World ID on Aug. 21, 2026, enabling robots and other autonomous machines to verify that they are interacting with real, unique humans using zero-knowledge proofs. The feature is available to devices running PeaqOS through robotic.sh.
The integration lets a machine request a World ID proof and validate it without receiving names, faces or other personally identifying information. PeaqOS links devices to World ID using decentralized identifiers and the platform’s machine market so verification can occur at the device level. Machines receive cryptographic proofs and log auditable records of each interaction.
Operators of delivery robots, shared machines and other autonomous systems commonly use PINs, pickup codes or identity checks that can be stolen or shared or that require collecting personal data. With World ID proofs, a machine receives confirmation the user is a real human and, when needed, that the user is unique, without learning the person’s identity. The system can enforce rules such as one item per human without keeping a database of identities.
A demonstration described an autonomous medication delivery flow: a patient verifies with a mobile World App before an order is accepted; a pharmacist verifies before loading the medication; and the patient verifies again when the robot arrives so the robot can confirm the recipient before unlocking a compartment. Promotional distribution robots and shared machines were shown using similar flows to grant access or limit distribution without account creation or personal data storage.
The integration replaces direct, one-to-one data collection with zero-knowledge proofs that prove attributes without exposing underlying data. PeaqOS plans to expand zero-knowledge verification across decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) projects to support more autonomous delivery and robotics use cases. The platform keeps auditable verification logs so operators can trace interactions without holding identity information.
World ID support is live for machines running PeaqOS via robotic.sh, providing a method for autonomous systems to validate human users while minimizing the personal data those devices receive or store.
