OSL offers XRP trading to Hong Kong retail investors
OSL Digital Securities began retail XRP trading in Hong Kong on July 29 via Flash Trade (XRP/USD) and OTC services (XRP/USD and XRP/HKD).
OSL Digital Securities began retail trading of XRP in Hong Kong on July 29, opening trades through its Flash Trade instant retail feature and over-the-counter (OTC) services. Retail customers can use Flash Trade for XRP/USD and OTC for XRP/USD and XRP/HKD.
Retail clients can deposit and withdraw XRP on the XRP Ledger and execute instant trades through Flash Trade. Professional and institutional customers retain access to additional pairs, including XRP/USDT on Flash Trade and XRP/BTC via OTC.
OSL operates under a Securities and Futures Commission license. The SFC licensing regime requires platforms to meet standards for client asset protection, custody arrangements, anti‑money‑laundering controls, token admission procedures, cybersecurity and market surveillance. Licensed operators must perform customer checks, manage conflicts of interest and maintain controls intended to reduce fraud, market manipulation and misuse of client assets.
In its July 29 listing notice the company wrote, “We are thrilled to announce that OSL HK will be the first exchange in Hong Kong to support XRP (XRP) trading to retail investors.” Trading went live the same day.
The listing gives Hong Kong retail investors a locally licensed option for accessing XRP, rather than relying on offshore platforms or professional‑only local listings. A prior professional‑only listing had opened XRP to institutional and professional clients earlier this year.
OSL noted that Flash Trade provides instant execution for retail users while OTC services handle larger‑block trades and offer pairs in both U.S. dollars and Hong Kong dollars. The firm said custody and operational controls align with its SFC obligations. OSL raised $200 million in January to fund acquisitions, payments infrastructure, stablecoin development and international expansion.
