Linea opens eligibility check for airdrop participants

Ethereum Layer 2 network Linea launched an official airdrop eligibility checker, one week ahead of its token generation event on September 10, 2025.
The checker went live on Linea's official Hub, where users can connect their wallets to verify eligibility. Linea stressed that the tool should only be accessed via its official platform to avoid phishing attempts.

The launch follows months of preparation, including snapshots taken earlier this summer to assess on-chain activity. Eligible users have now received non-transferable program tokens used to score participation.
Program tokens used for participation scoring have been minted and credited to eligible addresses. The eligibility checker represents the final public-facing tool before next week's token generation event begins the distribution phase. Linea published its tokenomics and ecosystem funding plans during the summer as part of the lead-up to the airdrop. The project positioned the token launch as part of a broader strategy focused on long-term ecosystem growth rather than immediate trading activity.

Of the total LINEA supply, 85% is allocated to the ecosystem: 9% for early users, 1% for strategic builders, and 75% for the Ecosystem Fund. The remaining 15% will go to the Consensys treasury under a five-year lockup.

The distribution framework prioritizes ecosystem development over immediate circulation.
Critically, zero team or investor allocations will be part of the drop, and no LINEA tokens have been allocated or sold to employees or investors. Consensys Software will retain 15% of the tokens with a five-year lockup, reflecting its long-term commitment to the ecosystem,
the project statement says.
Linea is a second-layer solution for scaling Ethereum while maintaining compatibility with the main network. The network is geared toward developers of EVM applications.
