Large-holder Bitcoin deposits spike near $76,000 price level - GNcrypto

Hourly Bitcoin exchange inflows rose to about 11,000 BTC and mean deposits hit 2.25 BTC as large-holder transfers climbed from under 10% to over 40% while BTC approached $76,000.

Hourly Bitcoin exchange inflows reached about 11,000 BTC on April 16, the highest hourly total since late December 2025, CryptoQuant reported. The amount exceeded a roughly 9,000 BTC surge in March 2026 that was followed by a short-term price correction. Bitcoin was trading near $74,370 as the inflow spike coincided with an attempt to retest the $76,000 area.

CryptoQuant measured the mean exchange deposit at 2.25 BTC, the largest daily increase since July 2024. Large individual transfers to Binance included single movements exceeding 1,000 BTC.

The share of large deposits rose from under 10% to above 40% of total exchange inflows within days, CryptoQuant noted. The firm wrote: “The increase in average deposit size confirms the inflow spike is large-holder driven-a retail-driven surge would lower, not raise, the average deposit size.”

On-chain metrics identify a traders’ on-chain realized price near $76,800. That realized-price band capped gains in January 2026 and preceded about a 35% drop.

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded inflows of $411 million on Tuesday, the second-largest single-day inflow in April after $471 million on April 6, according to SoSoValue. Bitcoin’s price rose from about $68,100 on April 1 to roughly $75,600 on Tuesday.

On-chain data places a nearer-term support level at $67,600, corresponding with the lower band of traders’ realized price.

Past hourly inflow spikes provide context: the late-December 2025 surge was the prior highest reading, and the March 2026 spike preceded a price correction.
