KuCoin launches simplified Lite mode for beginners - GNcrypto

Crypto exchange KuCoin has launched the KuCoin Lite mode in its mobile app. The new interface targets first-time users. The mode has been available since December 4 to clients using the exchange’s mobile application.

KuCoin Lite only provides access to spot trading. Users see a quick Buy/Sell section with a limited list of the most popular tokens, an instant conversion feature between assets, and simplified price charts without advanced indicators. Derivatives and professional tools remain in the separate Pro mode.

According to company representatives, the goal of the Lite version is to lower the entry barrier for people who do not trade on exchanges on a daily basis. The interface is built around step-by-step flows: choosing an asset, entering the amount and payment method, and then confirming the order with a few taps. Switching between Lite and Pro is done with a single toggle in the app settings.

KuCoin CEO BC Wong commented that the exchange expects to attract new users by offering a more straightforward first experience with cryptocurrencies. Professional traders, meanwhile, are still focused on the main interface with order books, advanced order types, and futures contracts.

KuCoin remains one of the largest centralized crypto exchanges by trading volume and number of listings. According to analytics services, the platform supports hundreds of trading pairs, and its daily spot trading volume reaches several billion dollars.

Other major exchanges have also launched simplified modes for beginners, including Binance Lite, which competes with KuCoin. As a result, beginner-focused products are becoming a standard part of the market.

The backdrop for the new release remains mixed. In early 2025, KuCoin pleaded guilty in a U.S. case over licensing and anti-money-laundering violations and agreed to pay multimillion-dollar penalties and temporarily leave the American market. Against this background, the KuCoin Lite launch shows that the exchange continues to develop its international business outside the United States while offering a simpler interface for retail clients.
