Istanbul Blockchain Week launches Institutional Markets Summit for June 2026

IBW is adding a dedicated institutional track to its June 2026 edition – a closed-door summit specifically for senior decision-makers from regulated finance, central banks, and digital asset infrastructure.
Istanbul Blockchain Week will introduce the Institutional Markets Summit, a new closed-door forum taking place alongside the main event on June 2, 2026, at the Hilton Bomonti in Istanbul.
The summit is limited to invited institutional leaders and IBW VIP pass holders. The summit is aimed at senior decision-makers rather than the broader conference crowd, including policymakers, regulators, central bank representatives, institutional investors, stablecoin issuers, payment networks, and risk leaders.

What’s on the agenda
The forum will focus on liquidity formation, capital markets integration, custody and settlement infrastructure, and compliance frameworks. Exclusive closed-door roundtables with sovereign funds are also planned. The overall lens is practical: how digital assets fit into existing financial and capital market systems, not whether they will.
Erhan Korhaliller, CEO of EAK Digital and founder of Istanbul Blockchain Week, said the launch reflects where the industry has moved:
With traditional financial institutions increasingly embracing digital assets, blockchain technologies, and cryptocurrencies, we are proud to launch a dedicated summit to explore these developments.
Why Istanbul
The choice of Istanbul is also part of that positioning. Türkiye processed nearly $200 billion in crypto transaction volume in 2025, making it one of the world’s largest markets by raw transaction activity, according to Chainalysis.
A new regulatory framework including a 10% withholding tax on crypto gains has moved digital assets closer to treatment as conventional financial instruments. Its position between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia has also helped make Istanbul a practical hub for cross-border institutional dialogue – previous IBW editions brought in officials from the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye, Garanti BBVA Digital Assets, and Ernst & Young Global, among others.
The broader IBW runs June 2–3, with the main conference, expo, DeFAI Con, RWA Builders Summit, and IstanHack alongside the new institutional track. Last year’s edition drew over 20,000 attendees.
