Hyperliquid just added livestreaming. Not for gaming or vlogs – for watching traders open positions in real time while you tip them in tokens. Streamers can go live, talk with viewers, show their on‑chain trading activity and receive tokenized tips through Hypercore.
Viewers, in turn, may earn “Based Gold” for tuning in. The platform opens at 12:30 UTC with @LH_0302 set to debut the format by opening 500 blind boxes on camera.

Hyperliquid positions Based Streams as a bridge between creator content and on‑chain finance. At its simplest, a host schedules a session, starts a broadcast and connects the stream to their Hyperliquid account so positions, fills or PnL can be displayed during the session. Chat runs alongside the video, and tipping routes through Hypercore, enabling fans to send Hypercore tokens directly to the creator without leaving the stream.
For viewers, the draw is interactivity that’s native to crypto. Donations settle on‑chain; some sessions may distribute Based Gold to active participants; and trades executed by the host can be surfaced in the stream overlay for added transparency. Because transfers are wallet‑to‑wallet, creators keep custody of what they receive, while audiences aren’t pushed through off‑platform paywalls or middlemen.

Why livestream trading? Hyperliquid already owns 38% of on-chain perps volume. Adding social features lets them capture the audience that's currently watching trades on Twitter – except now viewers can tip directly and creators keep everything.

Getting started looks straightforward. Creators apply to stream, set up an event with a title and time, and link their wallet for Hypercore‑powered tips. Audiences can browse the livestreams page, join chat and, where enabled, send token donations or claim session rewards. Standard warnings apply: verify handles, don't trust random addresses in chat, and don't YOLO based on what someone does live.
The first wave will test whether DeFi‑native streaming can find product‑market fit beyond crypto‑Twitter clips. If creators adopt Based Streams for trading walkthroughs, AMAs or product launches, Hyperliquid’s live layer could become a regular stop for users who want markets, money and media in one place.
