Google Removes Polymarket Links From Google News

Google removed Polymarket prediction-market links from Google News after a brief appearance in search results; a Google spokesperson called the listing an error.

Google removed links to Polymarket from Google News after the prediction market briefly appeared in search results. A Google spokesperson, Ned Adriance, said the site ‘briefly appeared in Google News in error, and it is no longer surfacing in News.’

The links appeared inside Google News search results for event-driven queries and were shown directly beneath coverage from established outlets for some searches. One example involved a query about whether ships would transit the Strait of Hormuz, where a Polymarket market predicting vessel passage appeared alongside mainstream reporting.

Google removed the listings soon after they were noticed. Subsequent searches for the same event-driven queries did not return Polymarket links.

Polymarket has been integrated with several mainstream platforms. Its data are included in Google Finance, it was named a prediction-market partner by X, and wallet and app providers including MetaMask and World App have added the Polymarket service.

Data compiled by a crypto analyst indicate that a small share of Polymarket traders generate large, consistent profits. The analyst’s figures show about 1% of traders earned more than $5,000 in profit in a single month, roughly 0.015% sustained that level for four consecutive months, and about 0.033% of wallets recorded over $100,000 in total profits.

Google described the listing as temporary and unintentional, and Polymarket results no longer surface in Google News search results.
