Google offers free year of Gemini AI Pro to Ukrainian students

Google is offering a free year of Gemini AI Pro to eligible students at Ukrainian universities (18+). The Ministry of Education and Science announced that access can be activated through student verification and an online form, with applications accepted until December 9.
Students get full Gemini 2.5 Pro with unlimited chats and image uploads, plus Deep Research – a tool that scans multiple sources and assembles a structured brief for essays, coursework and exam prep. NotebookLM is included to organize notes and readings, with expanded audio/video overviews.
Veo 3 generates eight‑second clips from text prompts or photos. For programming students, the Jules assistant flags errors, suggests fixes and helps sketch new features. Each account also comes with 2 TB of Google One cloud storage for Drive, Gmail and Photos.
Students must verify they are 18 or older and enrolled at a Ukrainian university, then complete the registration form linked from the Ministry’s site. The Ministry will post updates and the application link.
Google will host a free online session – “Gemini Academy for Students” on October 21 at 17:00. The webinar will cover practical use cases for Deep Research, NotebookLM and coding tools.
The offer is aimed broadly: humanities students can use it to gather sources and structure notes; engineers and designers can prototype, test code and produce short explainer videos; anyone can benefit from the extra cloud storage for course materials. Eligibility is limited to university students in Ukraine who are at least 18. Activation is open through December 9; further details and the registration link are available via the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
