Galaxy Ventures leads 7 million seed round for Tenbin tokenized gold and foreign exchange

Tenbin Labs has raised $7 million in seed funding led by Galaxy Ventures, the venture arm of Galaxy Digital, to develop tokenized gold and foreign exchange products that it says will track real world pricing more closely.

The round also included Wintermute Ventures, GSR, Variant, Archetype and FalconX, according to the company. Tenbin is building tokenized assets designed for faster minting and redemptions and for use across decentralized finance protocols.

Tenbin said it will use CME futures contracts to anchor pricing and hedge exposure rather than rely on custody-based wrappers. The company said it expects to capture yield from futures basis, the difference between futures and spot prices, and pass that yield through to token holders.

The first asset on its roadmap is a tokenized gold product that Tenbin said is scheduled to launch in early 2026, with prime broker support from Hidden Road and StoneX. The company said it also plans to introduce tokens tied to emerging market currencies, including the Brazilian real and Mexican peso, targeting users seeking alternatives to U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin exposure.

As GNcrypto wrote on 21 January 2026, Galaxy Digital is preparing to launch a $100 million long short crypto hedge fund in the first quarter of 2026 that can take positions in digital assets and in stocks of companies tied to Web3 infrastructure. The report said up to 30% of the portfolio may be allocated to cryptocurrencies, that the strategy will be led by Joe Armao, and that the fund had $100 million in commitments at launch from family offices, high net worth investors and some institutions.
