FalconX, Interstice link Canton to Ethereum, Solana, Robinhood
Interstice Digital and FalconX launched a non-custodial cross-chain swap engine connecting Canton with Ethereum, Solana and Robinhood. FalconX will supply liquidity for swaps.
Interstice Digital and FalconX announced Tuesday a non-custodial cross-chain swap engine that links the Canton Network with Ethereum, Solana and Robinhood Chain. FalconX will provide liquidity for swaps across the four networks.
The engine allows users to exchange tokenized assets between Canton and the three public blockchains without Interstice taking custody of funds or executing transactions on users’ behalf, according to the announcement. FalconX, a digital-asset prime brokerage serving institutional clients, supplies the market liquidity that connects tokenized assets on Canton with trading activity on public chains.
Canton is a public blockchain built for institutional finance. The network includes privacy controls and permissioning for regulated transactions and tokenized securities, and its participants include institutions such as JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas.
Interstice is a wholly owned subsidiary of Everyrealm and lists investors including a16z Crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Galaxy and Brevan Howard. The companies did not disclose which assets the swap engine will support at launch or provide projected transaction volumes.
The announcement follows increased use of Canton for tokenization and on-chain settlement by traditional financial firms. In July, Tradeweb coordinated an on-chain U.S. Treasury trade that used Canton to synchronize settlement in real time: Franklin Templeton transferred a tokenized Treasury to Virtu Financial in exchange for tokenized cash, settled against USDCx, a Canton-issued USDC-backed stablecoin.
Other activity on Canton includes Societe Generale deploying euro- and dollar-denominated stablecoins for tokenized collateral and repo financing, Visa testing private stablecoin settlement, a Japanese government bond collateral pilot involving Mizuho and Nomura, and S&P Dow Jones Indices placing its iBoxx US Treasuries Index on the network.
The announcement said the swap engine will enable holders of tokenized assets on Canton to access liquidity pools and trading on Ethereum, Solana and Robinhood Chain. The companies did not provide technical details on how swaps are executed or a timetable for broader rollout. No quotes or initial transaction figures were included in the announcement.
