Eventus International has appointed two senior industry figures to lead its regional expansion – Margarita Cruz covering the Americas and Geoffrey Muindi covering Africa. Both bring C-suite backgrounds in iGaming strategy, regulatory affairs, and market development.

Eventus International runs more than 20 events globally in 2026 across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. Two of those regions – the Americas and Africa – now have dedicated ambassadors responsible for market development, operator engagement, and regulatory outreach.

Margarita Cruz takes the Americas role

Cruz joins as Americas Ambassador with over two decades of experience in iGaming strategy, regulatory affairs, and market operations across the region. Her appointment coincides with Eventus’ expansion into Latin America: the company launched the inaugural LiGA Summit in Lima this June and debuts MEGA in Mexico City in February 2027 – its first event dedicated to the Mexican gaming market.

Her mandate covers North, Central, and South America, with a focus on building relationships with operators and regulators in markets revising their licensing rules and oversight structures.

Geoffrey Muindi leads African market development

Muindi takes on the Africa Ambassador role with a C-suite background spanning product strategy, market development, player retention, and responsible gaming governance. Africa is Eventus’ longest-running regional programme, with several conferences now in their 10th+ editions: Sports Betting East Africa+ reaches its 11th annual edition in Nairobi this April, Sports Betting West Africa+ runs in Dakar in October, and BiG Africa Summit – now in its 13th year – returns to Botswana in February 2027.

Muindi has been a consistent advocate for retention-led business models and for integrating regulatory requirements directly into product development. His role will focus on brand positioning, market entry frameworks, and sustained engagement with operators and regulators.

With Margarita and Geoffrey in place, we now have dedicated leads covering 20+ events across the Americas and Africa this year, an Eventus spokesperson said. They’ll focus on coordinating with local operators and regulators ahead of each conference.
