Ethereum Foundation Adds SEAL 911 Co-Founder to Board
Pascal Caversaccio, co-founder of SEAL 911, joined the Ethereum Foundation board for a one-year voluntary term as the foundation increases focus on privacy and security.
The Ethereum Foundation announced Wednesday that Pascal Caversaccio, known online as “pcaversaccio,” has joined its board for an initial one-year voluntary term served on a voluntary basis.
Caversaccio co-founded and leads SEAL 911, a crypto security response group. He is a longtime contributor to the Ethereum community and a member of the Foundation’s Silviculture Society, an informal advisory group focused on censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy and security. His recent publications include The Ethereum Cypherpunk Manifesto (2024) and Ethereum Privacy: The Road to Self-Sovereignty (2025).
The board now has four members: Foundation President Aya Miyaguchi, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Swiss counsel Patrick Storchenegger and Caversaccio.
The Foundation described the board as a security council responsible for setting the organization’s vision and ensuring that management’s strategies and decisions align with the Foundation’s values and Swiss foundation compliance requirements.
The Foundation has elevated privacy and security in its organizational strategy. In June it characterized privacy and security as “non-negotiable protocol guarantees” and announced the protocol team would work to convert research into practical protocol changes. Areas identified for further work include layer-1 privacy features and post-quantum security measures intended to preserve users’ self-sovereignty.
Caversaccio brings hands-on experience in incident response and privacy-focused advocacy within the Ethereum ecosystem.
The appointment takes place as protocol researchers and developers move privacy and technical defenses into implementation. The Foundation stated its research agenda will inform protocol-level decisions aimed at maintaining open-source development and resisting censorship while addressing emerging security threats.
