Ether.fi Moves Payments to MoonPay for Self-Custodial Neobank
Ether.fi is moving its payments infrastructure to MoonPay, adding in-app crypto purchases, sales, cross-chain trading, virtual accounts and crypto deposits.
Ether.fi is moving its core payments infrastructure to MoonPay’s integrated stack for its self-custodial neobank, the companies announced Oct. 6. The arrangement brings several payment functions into the ether.fi app and replaces services previously provided by multiple vendors.
MoonPay Headless Ramps will let users buy and sell crypto without leaving the app. MoonPay Trade will handle conversions between assets on different blockchains. MoonPay Enterprise will provide users with virtual accounts, account numbers and routing numbers.
The virtual accounts will support ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT, Faster Payments, SEPA and Open Banking transfers. Users will be able to receive paychecks and other bank payments through the accounts. MoonPay Crypto Deposits will allow transfers from external wallets and exchanges, with the deposited asset converted into the user’s ether.fi balance.
The integration follows an upgrade to ether.fi’s neobank product earlier this year. Users complete identity verification once, with the check applying across the card, account and on-ramp services.
Ether.fi reports more than $6 billion in assets under management across its Cash, Stake and Liquid products. Its card users spent $123.7 million in September 2026 across 1.5 million transactions and 48,162 active addresses. Spending totaled $24.1 million in September 2025.
Since the card launched in April 2025, it has processed $918.1 million across 11.6 million transactions, according to the company. Ether.fi attributed the spending to everyday purchases rather than trading activity.
Ether.fi’s model keeps wallet keys under users’ control. The company says it cannot move or seize assets held in those wallets. The companies also said MoonPay’s licensed fiat payment infrastructure could help ether.fi serve users in additional markets without obtaining a separate bank license in each jurisdiction.
The four MoonPay products will roll out across ether.fi over the coming months. The companies did not provide a date for full availability.
