CoinMortgage Offers Loans to Finance Bitcoin Purchases

CoinMortgage launched Bitcoin purchase financing July 4, 2026, offering loans that buy Bitcoin for qualified borrowers and hold the coins in custody until loans are repaid.

CoinMortgage Inc., headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, launched a Bitcoin purchase financing product that became available July 4, 2026 and was announced July 29. The program provides loans that the company uses to buy Bitcoin on behalf of qualified borrowers and holds the purchased coins in custody until the loan is repaid in full.

Under the offering, borrowers apply online and undergo underwriting and credit approval. When a borrower accepts the final loan terms, CoinMortgage uses the approved loan proceeds to purchase Bitcoin and holds the coins as collateral for the loan term.

The company states it does not rehypothecate collateral and provides each approved borrower with a unique Bitcoin address where the held coins can be viewed on-chain. CoinMortgage describes the custody arrangement as a custody-only model until full repayment and transfer into the borrower’s designated wallet.

Repayment is structured with fixed monthly payments similar to a mortgage schedule. CoinMortgage states there are no margin calls and no prepayment penalties. All loans remain subject to underwriting, credit approval, borrower qualifications, applicable law and final loan documents.

CoinMortgage is registered with the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a Money Services Business and holds a Florida Money Services Businesses Part II registration under license number FT230000560. The company notes that FinCEN registration does not imply government endorsement.

In its materials, CoinMortgage described the product as a way for qualified borrowers to build long-term Bitcoin ownership through scheduled monthly payments while custody remains with the lender and used the tagline, “Ownership is the goal. Financing is the path.” Qualified borrowers can apply through CoinMortgage’s website. The company’s disclosures state that Bitcoin involves price risk and that loans are governed by applicable laws and final loan terms.
