Cash App users can buy XRP, Solana and Ether via Moonpay
Cash App’s 59 million users can buy XRP, Solana, Ether and USDT through a Moonpay integration that funds purchases from Cash App balances and delivers tokens to external wallets.
Cash App’s 59 million users gained access to XRP, Solana, Ether and USDT on Aug. 18 through an integration with Moonpay that lets eligible U.S. customers fund purchases directly from their Cash App balances and receive tokens in external wallets.
The integration adds Cash App Pay as a funding option inside Moonpay’s checkout. Moonpay processes the purchase and can send the purchased tokens to wallets chosen by the user instead of leaving the assets held inside Cash App. Prior to the expansion, Cash App’s native crypto purchases were limited to bitcoin, with USDC added earlier in the year.
Moonpay supports payments from other major platforms and can deliver tokens to a range of self‑custody and hardware wallets, including Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Ledger, BitPay and Uniswap. The arrangement gives users a direct route from their Cash App balance into private wallets.
Moonpay co‑founder and CEO Ivan Soto‑Wright described the integration as a distribution play and said, “Cash App is where tens of millions of Americans already manage their money. This integration means that those users can access the digital asset ecosystem, funded instantly from an app they already know and trust.”
XRP’s inclusion via Moonpay continues a pattern of wider distribution in 2026. SoFi added XRP deposit support earlier this year, and Rakuten Wallet integrated XRP as part of expansions that extended the token’s reach into new consumer and merchant channels.
The integration follows regulatory scrutiny of Cash App’s crypto operations. New York regulators fined Block, Cash App’s parent company, $40 million for failures in transaction monitoring tied to Cash App’s bitcoin and fiat activity, including findings that the company had not addressed roughly 169,000 compliance alerts. Cash App has introduced several bitcoin-related features in recent years, including payroll conversion to bitcoin, a BTC roundup tool and Lightning Network receive options.
Under the agreement, Cash App users can buy tokens that Block has not listed directly, while Moonpay handles purchase processing and delivery to self‑custody and hardware wallets. Moonpay gains access to Cash App’s user base for funding crypto purchases through Cash App Pay.
