Blockchain Conference Brasil 2025 gathers industry and regulators

What began as a small Bitcoin meetup in 2019 is now attracting Brazil’s Central Bank and 10,000 crypto professionals. Blockchain Conference Brasil shows how fast the industry has matured.
On November 28–29, São Paulo will once again host Blockchain Conference Brasil – an event that has grown far beyond its roots. What started six years ago as BitSampa, a modest community gathering for Bitcoin enthusiasts, now draws government officials, major companies and thousands of professionals from all corners of the country.
This year the organizers expect around 10,000 attendees, more than 100 speakers and 50 exhibitors – and, importantly, formal participation from Brazil’s Central Bank and the Federal Revenue Service.

A milestone year – and the timing adds symbolism
The 2025 edition falls just as Bitcoin turns 17, a reminder of how quickly the crypto scene has evolved in Brazil. Over time, the conference has become a place where the industry no longer talks only to itself. Regulators show up, established firms send their leadership, and people who once saw crypto as a niche hobby now discuss infrastructure, compliance and long-term adoption. More than 30,000 people have participated since the first edition, and the scale this year pushes it firmly into “national event” territory.

Who’s speaking this year
The program brings together some of the most recognizable names in the local ecosystem:
- Fernando Ulrich (Oranje BTC)
- Guilherme Nazar (Binance Latin America)
- Sebastian Serrano (Ripio)
- Rocelo Lopes (Truther / SmartPay)
- João Canhada (FoxBit)
- Samir Kerbage (Hashdex)
- Fernando Carvalho (QR Capital)
- Caio Motta (Chainalysis)
- Teams from the Central Bank and Receita Federal
It’s a mix of early Bitcoiners, founders of major exchanges, infrastructure specialists and policymakers – a combination that wasn’t common even a few years ago.
A recurring theme: Bitcoin is transparent, not invisible
A topic that will likely surface again this year is the real level of privacy (or lack of it) in Bitcoin. In a recent conversation with the Bitnada channel, Chainalysis’ Caio Motta revisited a misconception that still pops up among newcomers: anonymity.
“Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous, not anonymous,” Motta said.
The point may sound technical, but it shapes how companies and regulators treat the industry. Bitcoin’s open ledger has always left a trail – and the more the ecosystem matures, the more important security and compliance frameworks become.
Why events like this matter right now
For many people in space, conferences aren’t just about announcements. They’re one of the few opportunities to see how builders, analysts, regulators and investors interpret the same technology from different angles. And in Brazil, where crypto regulation has started taking a clearer shape, these conversations help define what the market will look like in the next decade.
Beyond speculation
The organizers say they will reveal more headline speakers over the next few weeks, but the focus remains the same: building the infrastructure, rules and standards needed for broader adoption. Brazil has quietly turned into one of the liveliest crypto markets in the world, and the event reflects that momentum without pretending the industry is driven purely by hype.
