The third London Digital Assets Forum runs Feb 5-6, 2026, gathering executives from BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Mastercard, and Stripe as the UK implements mandatory crypto tax reporting under HMRC’s new framework.

The two-day event will feature speakers from BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Mastercard, and Stripe, alongside regulators and DeFi protocol founders. Confirmed speakers include Nikhil Sharma (BlackRock), Bradley Duke (Bitwise), Emma Lovett (J.P. Morgan), Paul Worthington (Stripe), Dorothea Ysenburg (Mastercard), Tim Grant (Deus X Capital), and Stani Kulechov (Aave).

The conference agenda covers institutional adoption, tokenization, DeFi integration, and policy developments. The format includes main-stage panels, focused breakout sessions, dedicated spaces for one-on-one meetings, and a separate press briefing area.

UK crypto tax reporting begins January 2026

Starting January 1, 2026, UK tax residents must report crypto holdings and gains under HMRC’s Cryptoasset Reporting Framework (CARF). Capital gains from cryptocurrency sales now fall under standard tax reporting requirements, the same as stocks or bonds.

The FCA announced plans to launch a regulatory sandbox for stablecoin payment testing, marking a shift toward digital asset infrastructure.

According to Victoria Gago, co-founder of Digital Assets Forum, London ranked second in the 2025 Global Financial Centres Index, trailing New York by one point. The UK accounts for over a third of Europe’s blockchain talent and reports crypto adoption rates above 24% among adults.

Institutional focus dominates UK crypto investment

Enterprise and institutional-focused deals represented over 70% of UK digital asset investments in 2025, according to data cited in a recent Barclays Bank report. The bank described 2026 as “the year of great regulation” for digital assets entering mainstream finance.

The Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future is expected to release its first policy recommendations in March 2026. The taskforce focuses on US-UK capital markets.
