Bitcoin whale sends $20 million to Binance after $97K buys - GNcrypto

An address that amassed 513 BTC at an average $97,541 sent roughly 300 BTC (just over $20 million) to a Binance deposit address on Tuesday and still holds about 200 BTC with Bitcoin near $69,000.

A large Bitcoin holder transferred about 300 BTC – just over $20 million – to a Binance deposit address on Tuesday, on-chain data show. The originating wallet retained roughly 200 BTC.

Blockchain records link the activity to an address formatted “bc1q…kp4n.” With Bitcoin around $69,000, the remaining 200 BTC were worth about $13.75 million.

Records indicate the wallet accumulated about 513 BTC between January and March 2025 at an average acquisition price near $97,541 per coin, or roughly $50 million for the full position. At current prices, selling the newly deposited coins would imply a realized loss.

It is not clear whether the transfer was intended for immediate sale. Large deposits to exchanges often occur ahead of selling, though they can also reflect collateral needs, portfolio rebalancing, or other wallet management.

Recent weeks have included other sizable on-chain moves. Last month, a long-dormant address sent 2,100 BTC – about $147.7 million – after more than 13 years without activity. In a separate transaction, another whale moved roughly $33 million in BTC to Binance, while whales’ Bitcoin share hit 9-month low. Bitcoin’s price has been volatile and has pulled back from its record high in recent months.
