Bitcoin Above $67K After U.S.-Iran Ceasefire; Derivatives Tepid

Bitcoin rose above $67,000 on Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a late-Sunday ceasefire deal with Iran. The sudden price move led to about $210 million in liquidations of short positions.

Derivatives markets showed limited demand for leveraged long positions. The two-month annualized futures basis was around 2%, below a commonly used 4% neutral threshold that has not been exceeded in over three months. In options trading, the 30-day put-call skew showed puts trading roughly 16% richer than calls.

Spot flows into U.S.-listed Bitcoin exchange-traded funds totaled about $86 million on Friday. That inflow followed roughly $730 million in net outflows recorded since June 5.

Brent crude oil fell to a 100-day low on Monday while the Nasdaq 100 rose about 3% and traded close to its record high.

Market participants cited uncertainty over operational details and the lack of a final deadline in the Iran agreement; an interim arrangement is expected on Friday.

Corporate activity included continued purchases by MicroStrategy and regulatory filings showing SpaceX holds 18,712 BTC on its balance sheet after an IPO that raised about $75 billion. SpaceX shares rose on Monday.
