BingX EU Gets Austria’s MiCAR License for Europe

BingX EU has secured a MiCAR license from Austria’s FMA for crypto custody and exchange services in 29 EEA countries, subject to passporting approval.

BingX EU has received a license under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation from Austria’s Financial Market Authority, known as the FMA. The authorization covers crypto custody and exchange services for retail and institutional customers in 29 European Economic Area countries, subject to passporting approval.

The license was granted to MEGE zweite GmbH, a Vienna-based company that operates as BingX EU. The authorization provides a regulatory basis for the company’s planned expansion in Europe.

BingX EU plans to work with the FMA and other European regulators before launching services across the EEA. Passporting rules will determine when and where the company can operate in each country.

BingX EU CEO Daniel Lai described the company’s aim as providing European customers with a locally regulated crypto trading service. The license, he said, will support its focus on security, transparency and accountability.

MiCAR establishes common requirements for crypto-asset service providers in the EU. The rules cover areas including investor protection and market integrity. A company authorized in one EU member state can apply to provide services in other participating countries through the passporting process, subject to regulatory requirements.

Founded in 2018, BingX describes itself as a multi-asset trading platform with more than 40 million users worldwide. The company has expanded into sports partnerships, including agreements with Chelsea FC in 2024 and Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2026.
