Binance Lets AI Agents Trade Crypto for Users

Binance will let users authorize AI agents to monitor markets and place trades in their accounts under user-set permissions.

Binance announced a new feature that lets customers authorize AI agents to trade in their exchange accounts. The agents are automated programs that monitor market data and on-chain signals and can place buy or sell orders when user-defined conditions are met.

Users can choose or configure an agent, set trading rules and risk limits, and grant permission for the agent to execute trades without manual approval. The company said agents access live market feeds and on-chain data available on the Binance platform.

Agents run continuously, scanning prices, order books and indicators to identify opportunities and carry out limit or market orders when criteria match the user’s settings. Account owners can pause or revoke an agent’s permissions at any time, and the platform’s standard authentication and security measures apply when an agent is authorized to trade.

Binance described the feature as suitable for retail customers seeking automated assistance and for more active traders using algorithmic execution. Configurations can follow trend signals, enforce target allocations through rebalancing, or implement other user-defined strategies. Fees and market costs for trades executed by agents follow the exchange’s existing fee schedule.

The exchange said users will see a history of actions taken by any authorized agent and can inspect the rules governing each agent. Agents are limited to the permissions granted by the account holder, and the ability to withdraw funds remains subject to the account’s custody and permission settings.

Binance plans monitoring tools and safeguards to detect abnormal agent behavior and protect accounts. The company added that customers are responsible for understanding the strategies they enable and that educational materials will be provided to help evaluate agent settings and risk parameters.

Availability will begin on Binance’s main trading platform before wider distribution. The exchange recommended testing agents in simulation or with limited capital and reiterated that past performance does not guarantee future results.

Automated trading systems and algorithmic bots have long been used in cryptocurrency markets. The new AI agents expand Binance’s existing offerings, which include programmable trading bots, copy-trading services and smart order types.
