Binance launches Agent OS for AI crypto trading

Binance launched Agent OS, a developer platform that lets external AI agents access market data, view accounts and execute trades under user-set permissions and subaccounts.

Binance announced Agent OS, a developer platform that allows external AI agents to access market data, monitor user accounts and execute cryptocurrency trades under permissions set by the user. The platform supports multiple AI models, including ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

Users can authorize third-party agents to read account balances and place orders while defining specific permissions, trade limits and which assets agents may use. Traders can assign agents to dedicated subaccounts to separate funds and trading activity, and access can be revoked at any time.

Binance indicated it will be able to monitor trades executed through Agent OS but will not have visibility into an agent’s external information sources, interpretations or internal decision-making, which run inside the user’s chosen AI application.

Agent OS connects authorized agents to Binance’s payments systems and onchain tools, enabling agents to make payments and interact with wallets and other blockchain services when the user permits those actions.

Other exchanges have introduced similar tools. Coinbase launched Coinbase for Agents in June, enabling models such as ChatGPT and Claude to connect to user accounts and autonomously execute trades and payments using its x402 protocol. Kraken released an AI investing assistant that monitors markets and recommends trades but requires user approval before orders are placed. OKX piloted a marketplace where AI agents can find work, transact in stablecoins and hire other agents using an onchain reputation layer.

Executives in the crypto industry have predicted growing activity by automated agents on blockchain networks. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire have argued AI agents could represent a large share of onchain transactions. Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao described cryptocurrency as the ‘native currency’ for AI agents.

Binance presented Agent OS as a developer toolset that links external AI models to exchange infrastructure while leaving model reasoning and data sourcing to the external agent applications. The company described the platform as part of a broader set of exchange services that integrate AI tools with crypto trading, payments and onchain operations.
