Anthropic in talks to raise $10B

AI startup Anthropic, maker of the Claude models, is discussing a roughly $10 billion funding round that could lift its valuation to about $350 billion.
Sources say potential lead investors include Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and hedge fund Coatue Management. Terms have not been finalized, so the final amount, valuation, and investor lineup could change. The funding round could be agreed in the coming weeks.
If the deal lands on those terms, Anthropic’s valuation would nearly double versus September 2025, when the company closed its Series F round, raising $13 billion at an estimated ~$183 billion valuation. Several major venture firms took part in that round, and Anthropic’s strategic partners have included Amazon and Google. Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, the company has focused on enterprise deployments of Claude an approach that comes with heavy infrastructure costs and sustained demand for GPU access.
At the same time, Anthropic has been widening its relationships with compute providers. In November 2025, Microsoft and Nvidia announced a collaboration with Anthropic: Claude is expected to be available to Azure customers through Azure AI Foundry, and Anthropic committed to purchase $30 billion in Azure compute capacity, with an option to contract additional capacity of up to 1 gigawatt.
The product backdrop is also notable. In late November, Anthropic introduced Claude Opus 4.5 and said the model posted its best result on an in-house two-hour engineering coding test. Opus 4.5 is available in Claude apps, via API, and on major cloud platforms; the company has cited pricing of $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens.
Anthropic expects to reach break-even by 2028 and may consider a public listing as early as 2026.
