Anchorage Adds Etherlink Custody, Including Tokenized Uranium
Anchorage Digital Bank will custody Etherlink and seven Etherlink-based tokens, including xU3O8, a token representing ownership of physical uranium, in segregated federal accounts.
Anchorage Digital Bank added custody support for Etherlink and seven assets on Sept. 16, 2026, allowing institutional clients to hold Etherlink-issued tokens in segregated accounts at the federally chartered bank.
The integration covers assets issued on Etherlink, an Ethereum Virtual Machine–compatible layer-2 network that settles transactions on Tezos. Supported tokens include xU3O8, wrapped XTZ (WXTZ), the liquid staking token stXTZ, stablecoins USDT, USDC and USDSM, and wrapped Ether (WETH).
xU3O8 is structured to represent ownership of physical uranium held by the token issuer, providing investors exposure to the commodity without taking physical possession. Market listings show xU3O8’s market capitalization just above $9 million at current price levels.
Anchorage’s announcement did not state whether the bank will offer additional services such as settlement, transfer agent functions or other asset servicing for these tokens beyond custody. Custody through Anchorage means assets will be held in segregated client accounts under the bank’s federal charter.
A Hong Kong custodian added Etherlink support and custody for xU3O8 in August 2025, making Anchorage one of multiple regulated custodians now offering custody for tokenized uranium.
Issuers of tokenized uranium say the tokens can shorten settlement times from weeks to minutes and allow investors to gain exposure without managing storage or transport of the material.
Anchorage Digital Bank was the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States. The Etherlink integration expands the list of layer-2 networks and token types that regulated custodians are placing into custody services.
