American Bitcoin posts record 932 BTC; Q2 loss narrows

American Bitcoin produced a record 932 BTC in Q2, raising mining revenue to $67.0 million and narrowing its net loss to $57.2 million from $81.8 million in Q1.

American Bitcoin produced 932 BTC in the second quarter, lifting mining revenue to $67.0 million and narrowing its net loss to $57.2 million from $81.8 million in the first quarter. The Nasdaq-listed miner reported the results on Monday.

Quarterly mining revenue rose about 8% from $62.1 million as production reached the company’s highest quarterly level to date. The company remained unprofitable for the quarter despite the revenue increase.

American Bitcoin completed a 1-for-15 reverse stock split last month to maintain its Nasdaq listing after shares had fallen below the exchange’s minimum bid requirement. The stock closed down 6.4% at $5.52 on the Friday before the earnings release and showed a small uptick in premarket trading on Monday.

The company reported holding approximately 8,002 BTC as of June 30 and reported it had pledged about 3,090 tokens under agreements with Bitmain to purchase mining equipment. A data aggregator ranked the firm as the 16th-largest bitcoin treasury company at the time of reporting.

American Bitcoin is majority owned by Hut 8 and was co-founded by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. The filings and financial results cover operational output and balance sheet items for the quarter.
