American Bitcoin adds 11,298 ASIC miners, raises hashrate

Trump-backed American Bitcoin bought 11,298 ASIC miners, adding about 3.05 EH/s at ~13.5 J/TH; units arrive March 2026 in Drumheller, Alberta.

The acquisition increases the company’s owned hashrate to approximately 28.1 EH/s. The machines are scheduled for delivery and deployment in March 2026 at the Drumheller, Alberta site.

Once energized, the company expects its operational fleet to total 58,999 miners running at about 25 EH/s with an average efficiency near 14.1 J/TH. American Bitcoin counts 89,242 miners in its owned fleet, a figure that includes units that are staged for later use as well as those currently deployed.

The newly ordered units are rated at approximately 13.5 J/TH. The company reports its overall owned-fleet average efficiency at about 16 J/TH.

American Bitcoin’s stated business strategy centers on accumulating Bitcoin through self-mining at costs below spot prices. The company reported mining Bitcoin at a roughly 53% discount to spot in the fourth quarter of 2025. It closed 2025 with 5,401 BTC on the balance sheet and has since increased holdings to more than 6,000 BTC.

For 2025, American Bitcoin recorded $185.2 million in revenue and a net loss of $153.2 million, primarily due to a $227.1 million non-cash mark-to-market loss on its Bitcoin holdings. The company is a majority-owned subsidiary of Hut 8.

The firm said it will deploy the new miners at Drumheller and plans to prioritize energy-efficient hardware, optimize energy costs and maintain flexibility to scale operations based on market and network conditions.

Eric Trump, co-founder and chief strategy officer, said the goal is to “grow American-owned, professionally operated hashrate” and noted that doing so protects the network and supports innovation. American Bitcoin President Matt Prusak added, “Every decision we make is oriented around maximizing bitcoin accumulation.”
