AI deepfake of Bruno Fernandes used by offshore casino

QH88, an unlicensed offshore casino, published a one-minute AI-generated video on its homepage that depicted Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes signing an ambassadorial contract at Old Trafford. The clip looped automatically and was presented as evidence of an official endorsement.

Security analysts who reviewed the video identified signs of artificial generation, including blurred details, minor continuity errors and generic facial features. The video appeared alongside promotional material aimed at customers in Vietnam, where Manchester United has a large following. QH88’s site also carried unauthorized live streams of football matches from several countries.

A separate operator called Nightwin ran social media advertising built around a fabricated news story that claimed Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham had launched a betting app called “Bellingham Bet.” The ads showed a logo and a fake rating and download figures before directing users to Nightwin’s platform. The ads were removed after a few days, leaving only screenshots as evidence.

Nightwin operates under a Curaçao gaming license through a company named Flybergom B.V., incorporated in May 2024 and granted a license in September 2025. Flybergom also lists operations under the DK88 or Dashking88 brand, targeting markets in Malaysia and Singapore. The company’s registered Willemstad address is an office block known for housing corporate-services firms that can shield ultimate ownership.

Neither Nightwin nor QH88 appear on the Great Britain Gambling Commission’s public register. Nightwin’s website can be accessed from within the UK and accounts can be created without using a virtual private network. A Great Britain Gambling Commission spokesperson urged consumers to confirm an operator holds a valid commission licence before depositing money and noted the regulator acts when it becomes aware of unlicensed operators.

Enforcement is complicated by licensing jurisdictions that allow layered corporate structures and shell companies. Under the Macolin Convention, betting is illegal when an operator is not permitted to offer services where the customer is located. The UK market for unregulated gambling is estimated to be approaching $20 billion. Industry and consumer-protection groups report that celebrity deepfakes have appeared in gambling promotions beyond football, and that many offshore operators accept cryptocurrencies and use social advertising to reach customers. Bettors are advised to verify licences, treat unsolicited promotions with caution and report suspected scams to national authorities.
