Afroman is joining Bitcoin 2026 in Las Vegas after a jury ruled in his favor in a closely watched case tied to a 2022 police raid. The rapper is now part of the conference lineup, and the American flag suit he wore during the legal fight will also be shown at the event.

Afroman will appear at Bitcoin 2026, which is set for April 27-29 at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

Best known for his 2001 track “Because I Got High,” the rapper is joining this year’s event weeks after a jury ruled in his favor in a lawsuit brought by seven law enforcement officers. The case centered on songs, videos, and security footage tied to a 2022 raid on his home.

According to the conference announcement, the officers sued Afroman for defamation, sought nearly $4 million in damages, and pushed for the removal of related content. The jury sided with Afroman earlier this month, ending the case in his favor.

After leaving the courthouse, he told reporters: “I didn’t win. America won.”

The case became bigger than a music dispute

What started as a dispute over music and footage turned into a broader argument about speech, power, and who controls the narrative after a police raid.

The conference is clearly leaning into that framing. In announcing Afroman’s appearance, BTC Inc linked his case to themes that have become familiar in Bitcoin circles: resistance to overreach, self-sovereignty, and control over creative and financial property.

That does not make Afroman a typical conference speaker. But it does explain why organizers see him as a fit for this year’s program, especially as Bitcoin events continue to mix politics, culture, media, and regulation with the usual market and technology agenda.

His suit will also be displayed at the event

Afroman’s appearance in Las Vegas will not stop at the speaker lineup.

The American flag suit he wore throughout the legal battle will be displayed in the Bitcoin Conference Art Gallery as part of Relics of a Revolution, an exhibition focused on protest art and symbolic responses to institutional power in Bitcoin’s history.

The suit is also being offered at auction through Scarce.city, according to the announcement.

Bitcoin 2026 keeps widening its mix of speakers

Bitcoin 2026 is scheduled to bring together more than 30,000 attendees and over 500 speakers across multiple stages, according to the organizers.

Afroman’s inclusion adds another culture-and-politics angle to a conference that already appears to be building a lineup well beyond core Bitcoin builders and executives.

The event will take place April 27-29 at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
