Metaplanet secures $500m Bitcoin credit for buybacks
Tokyo-listed Metaplanet said it will fund a year-long share repurchase with leveraged Bitcoin exposure after its market value slipped below the worth of its BTC holdings, arguing the stock is mispriced and that buybacks will raise Bitcoin yield per share. Tokyo-based fintech JPYC Inc. launched JPYC, a yen-pegged stablecoin, and opened issuance and redemption on its JPYC EX platform. The token is intended to maintain a 1:1 exchange rate with the yen and is backed by reserves held in bank deposits and Japanese government bonds. 
The Kazoku Hikikomori Japan project will bring Tokyo's social recluses, known as hikikomori, back into society.
Six hybrid meetings will be held in Tokyo's Edogawa Ward for people who are struggling with social integration. Hikikomori will be able to participate in the project in three different ways: physically, virtually (in the metaverse), or or in a safe physical shelter. The organizers will set up a location where recluses will have the desire to interact with others.
Experts estimate that between 1 and 2 million Japanese people identify themselves as hikikomori. 
Mt. Gox extends creditor repayment deadline to Oct. 2026
Mt. Gox has pushed back its creditor repayment deadline by one year to Oct. 31, 2026, after a court-approved extension in Tokyo on Oct. 27. The rehabilitation trustee, Nobuaki Kobayashi, attributed the delay to incomplete creditor procedures and issues encountered during processing. Nvidia and Fujitsu agreed to deepen collaboration on artificial intelligence, aiming to build the underlying infrastructure for “the AI industrial revolution” in Japan and, potentially, beyond.
